Hazardous Area Verification Dossier

AS/NZS 3000: Cl, 7.7.2.4.2 Refers to competency requirements in AS/NZS 60079.14. The relevant clause in that standard is 4.4 will be explained further here.

Job orders like design, selection, and installation of electrical equipment shall only be performed by personnel who have undergone specific training for such tasks. The training should cover safety standards for installation, rules, and regulations pertaining to the tasks mentioned in hazardous area classification.

To ensure that the personnel is updated on the standards and protocols to observe, continuing education and training must also be undertaken. This will help gauge the competency of the personnel and correlate it with the type of work to be executed.

In compliance with the competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA), undergoing training is mandatory adherence to the AS/NZS 4761 requirement.

Hazardous area inspection

As stated in AS/NZS 60079.17:2017 Explosive atmospheres electrical installations inspection and maintenance, regular inspection of all electrical and non-electrical equipment should be performed to ensure the safety of its usage.
